Another great builder and keeper of the tradition has died. My sympathy goes out to Don's family and friends.

I am blessed to have met him, and I own one of his Galax dulcimers. A wonderful man....

I was honored to know Don and his wife for many, many years! He was a wonderful human being and he will be greatly missed! Bob and I had a great visit with his wife yesterday and she is doing ok. She has a strong army of dulcimer friends that surround her. ❤️
I guess I am one of the seven Galax Champions mentioned and the current Galax Champion. Bob was always honored to play back up guitar with Don in the Galax contests over the last many years.
I love his instruments and I am lucky to own three of his Galax dulcimers, a TN music box that he made, and two of his tiny dulcimers!
I am sad that we are losing some of the great builders and players like Don!
