I can't tell for certain, but it looks like they cleared out the old dulcimore type instruments from the front winder. I hope they still have 'em on display around the place. I know their emphasis right now is on guitar building, still it is Hindman dulcimores figure prominently in their history.
I spent a good bit of time with Doug at the Association of Stringed Instrument Artisans Symposium back in June. He had one of the folks from the Recovery program with him. The young man made an awesome guitar and like most of the folks from the Hindman area was very shy about showing it to anyone. I had the opportunity to play it. The folks at the Symposium were very supportive of the program and Troublesome Creek Guitars. They have a really nice building to house the manufacturing facility with plenty of display space and room for offices. Doug has plenty of experience in guitar building and struggles somewhat with the administrative role, but he is determined to make a go of this. I plan to stop and visit next May either during after the Berea gathering. I hope they will have begun some production by then.
