Just finishing up this little Whistlepig. Buckeye soundboard and back. Holly peghead, sides and tailpiece. Birdeye maple fretboard overlay and accents. Ionian mode cgg. Just Intonation. Fixed Bridge made of antler. Hadn't done one of those in 10 years probably. Bone nut. Only thing I had to compare it to is a Cumberland with equal temperament but I have to say, I can't believe the difference! Although, I didn't like hammering frets on a completed dulcimore one bit!!! Thanks to robin, dan and daveh for the help and info on just intonation. I know I've probably aggravated you guys to death. Thanks to Dan for showing me his fret locator tool! That comes in really handy!
Is that one your second fiddle edge build? Are you finding it much more difficult than what you are used to?
Yeah but I have another in the works. As far as assembly it's no harder. I simply move my kerfing over 1/8 inch toward the inside and found I don't even have to trim. Just a little sanding to even things out. But it causes more work concerning the finishing with the way I apply my finish.
