I'm currently constructing a Roscoe Russell-style Galax dulcimer out of Douglas fir, thin Baltic birch ply and hard maple. As I tried to fit the maple sides, I found that they were too short, no matter what I did to get them to fit. So.........back to the table saw and sanders for me. I'm starting another Will Singleton now as well. All-poplar with 2 cherry fretboard inlays. I have my original patterns here, but fortunately I ALSO have actual tracings and notes taken from a REAL Singleton dulcimer at the University of Kentucky. Woo-HOO!
